An extreme colon cleanse can be a detoxification of the body which takes places rapidly or it can be an excessive amount of colonic irrigations designed to deep cleanse the colon. The misuse of laxatives could also be considered to be an extreme colon cleanse. The basis behind such extreme measures of a colon cleanse is that the body can have old food stored in the body for weeks, months or even years and it has not passed through the system in the ordinary way because the colon has become damaged. Waste products can even become lodged in the cells and lining of the colon and cannot be removed with a milder treatment so many believe that an extreme colon cleanse is the only way to fully treat this damage and eliminate any waste from the body.
Many people even feel that treating the body to an extreme colon cleanse is the only solution to good health and regularly perform these treatments to ensure that waste does not get a chance to build up in the body. There have been many debates over the safety of extreme colon cleanse processes and if administered incorrectly, some have been known to cause more harm than good. An extreme colon cleanse can eradicate a major amount of waste from the body but methods such as laxatives or self administered forms of colonic irrigations can be used inaccurately or too many times which can have dangerous consequences.
The Dangers of an Extreme Colon Cleanse
There are certain dangers and problems associated with some forms of an extreme colon cleanse. There is still a lot of indecision amongst experts as to whether an extreme colon cleanse is necessary or healthy. One example is rapid detoxification as many people feel that they frequently need to detoxify their bodies after a weekend of excess. This may be a good idea every so often but on a weekly basis it is putting the body into unnecessary shock. The body adjusts to a healthy diet during the week only to face an onslaught of alcohol and fast food at the weekends then gets a shock when the healthy diet begins again. It would be a lot easier on the body to simply maintain a healthy lifestyle on a daily basis and keep alcohol and fast food within moderation. Colonic irrigations have been known to cause injuries in those with certain health conditions and laxatives can cause worrying side effects to those who over use them. To summarize, an extreme colon cleanse should not be undertaken on a regular basis and a consultation with an expert is the most sensible option.

Good bowel movement is a basic necessity and essentially keeps us healthy. If our bowel system doesn’t work right and we can’t eliminate toxins, then we definitely have a problem. To keep the intestines working smoothly, to help us lose weight, feel lighter and better we should be doing a colon cleanse at least twice a year.
This type of colon cleanse helps energize us, helps us lose weight, improve metabolic rates, and even lets us look healthier.
